The clocks surround is mahogany and has an outstanding finish. The movement is an eight-day fusee anchor escapement made by Winterhalder & Hofmeier. This clock is special because of the early serial number: 10228.
Writings indicate that Winterhalder & Hofmeier imported their movements to England and sold them on the London Bridge. Winterhalder & Hofmeier movements are considered to be the finest Germany has to offer.
