This clock has a classic eight-day fusee movement with anchor escapement and shouldered plates. The case is made from an attractive burled mahogany and features a window in the base that's surrounded by accents.
The beautiful grape ears would be an excellent addition to a wine lovers home. The clock was made in the city of York which is a pretty walled city in Yorkshire county. York has a heavy Nordic and Roman influence.
