Being hand-made by a master craftsman a couple years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. You're not just purchasing an exceptional clock, your getting an important piece of American history.

The case is made from a gorgeous piece of cherry wood by Isaac Thomas from Willistown, Pennsylvania which is located in Chester County. This clock exemplifies the exceptional work of Thomas and still has the original finish.

The imported English dial is also special because it was painted by Osborn, early in his career, shortly after the breakup between him and Wilson. The center birds, with their thicker than normal necks, are typical of Osborn's work and his “Osborn manufactory” mark can be found on the False-plate.

The dial was specially made for a county courthouse because its rare to find the “Scales of Justice” painted on a dial. The clock's movement is the original eight-day, anchor escapement, rack-striking mechanism that strikes a bell on the hour.

Price: $18,000
