We are excited to offer such a rare clock that’s still in excellent condition. The movement is an eight day JJ Eliott with five tubes playing Westminster tune on four of the tubular bells. The hour is struck on a fifth bell.  The clock has chime/silent switch next to the number three on the brass dial. The dial has a moon roller displaying a castle on one side and a ship on the other. This clock was retailed by WK Cowan in Chicago c1905.

The case is mahogany with exquisite carvings. This combination of a fine case with a JJ Elliott movement makes this a rare and exciting find. The clock was originally purchased in Chicago by the Bissell Family, (Bissell Carpet Sweeper Company) and remained in the family until recently purchased by us.

Around the early part on the twentieth century JJ Elliot produced the finest hall clock movements available. Elliot’s business plan was to make and ship these movements to the USA where they would be installed in the finest quality American cases and retailed by prestigious retailers throughout the country.

Price: $15,000
