This is a nice example of an English grandfather clock. The case is flame mahogany with a pine herringbone wood inlay. It has an arched hood with scalloped edges. The glass is original to the clock.
The eight-day four pillar movement has anchor escapement with Rack and Snail striking that sounds on an English Bell every hour. The beautifully painted dial features and English Castle and was painted in Birmingham by the Wright Co.
