Austrian Thirty-Day Floor Regulator Antique Time-Piece Made by F. Schondorfer of Wein

This is fine example of a floor regulator antique Austrian time-piece. The dial is signed by F. Schondorfer of Wein. It has a weight driven time only movement with deadbeat escapement that runs for thirty days. The case is made from a beautiful piece of Rosewood and has an arched top with a pierced carved crest. There are serpentine carvings on the corner of the door and scroll carvings on the base. The clock stands on turned feet.

Franz Schondorfer lived from 1822-1881 and was a Clockmaker to the Imperial Court starting in 1872. He received a medal (1st class) in the Vienna exhibition of 1880.
