This Ansonia mantle clock has a rare porcelain dial with Arabic numerals within blue circular fields. The clock has beveled glass and Rococo sash. The eight-day time and strike movement chimes on the quarter-hour and hour. The creamy porcelain case, with gold highlights, is in very good condition.
The porcelain is hand painted featuring four small cameos. The upper two are cherubs and the lower two shows children playing. A small butterfly is painted on either side of the clock.
Since their inception in 1850, the Ansonia Clock Co. has consistently produced some of the finest and aesthetically pleasing American Clocks. This mantle clock will add charm and character to your home because of the delicate colors and hand-painted decorations.
